Charleston Santa Rick has delivered Christmas cheer to children and adults across the Southeast for over 30 years. His portrayal of jolly old St. Nick began in the Holiday Street Parade in Boca Raton, Florida in 1990.

During this time, Santa Rick also portrayed another well-loved children’s character called “Poppy the Penguin,” a 7-foot penguin with red feet. Through fun stories and sing-along songs for ages 2-6, Poppy the Penguin would share how each of us is special to Jesus just the way we are. Poppy’s red feet make him special!

 

In 2019, Santa Rick left the tropical climate of South Florida, relocated to the Lowcountry, and grew a real white beard. As a passionate ambassador of the Christmas spirit, Santa Rick started “Live Video Chats with Santa” in 2020 to allow children that special visit with Santa in a safe and meaningful way. Today, Santa Rick continues to keep the magic of Christmas alive through these virtual visits, but Santa Rick is thrilled to offer traditional in-person visits again. Santa Rick has been described by parents in the low country as kind, patient, and funny. He would love to work with you to fill your holiday event with cheer and create unforgettable Christmas memories.
